Bird food

I've done the traditional take a pinecone, roll it in peanut butter, and then roll in birdseed and hang from a tree. The birds really do go for it, I have to admit. As for the suet I just buy them from the local stores and the birds like those, too.
 
We did the same thing but with construction paper coated with peanut butter and then bird seed. It made a great project for the kids and while it doesn't last long they were excited to watch them over the next few days as the birds ate them, in between being chased out of the yard by the dogs anyway, LOL.
