Nobody has mentioned Dave barry yet, multiple offerings to make you laugh.
And if you're a SF fan, read the "Stainless Steel rat" series by Harry Harrison.

I'm getting quite excited by other's suggestions on SF and Fantasy. I usually hang back on those because IRL most don't understand my love of it. The SS Rat series is fantastic!
 
Two more you might like--the Kinky Friedman 'mystery' series where Kinky features himself as a private eye, lots of laugh-out-loud bits. Also in the oldie-but-goodie category, the Bertie Wooster and Jeeves books by P. g. Wodehouse still stand up if you don't mind a little dated humor.
