Well the counter top people just called and won't be delivering and installing my granite top Monday as planned. I'm absolutely erked. The girl had no reason why either......just said "For some reason it hasn't even made it out of the draft room". I couldn't believe it. So needless to say no Easter Dinner will be made here and we'll be going out to eat. And to top that off.....the cabinets that had to be reordered, because the ones delivered were damaged, were suppose to come on the 31st of last month. Well I was patient but finally I called today and she was like oh they'll be coming on the 7th...said she tried calling me on the 27th but no one answered. Ok....so why the heck didn't she call between then and now.

Oh well not much I can do about it like I told them its really in their hands and we're at their mercy.

And to top it off.....I've been having really bad stomach problems and was 99% sure it was my gallbladder......well the hyda scan I had last week showed my Gallbladder is fine. So now I have to go see a specialist....which means he's going to want to put that scope down my throat again and while he's at it I'm sure he's going to stretch my esophagus again, due to slight stricture. Last time he did it he tore it and talk about hurt. I just want to get it all over with and find out whats wrong. I absolutely hate going to the doctors or hospital. I think its the fear of them telling me something terrible like I have Cancer. Both my parents were diagnosed and mom died from a rare form and I tend to have inherited some of her other medical problems.

Anyway....thanks for letting me vent!

when you can't make it happen, just let it flow...glad you vented...get it out of your system. WHen my kitchen was torn up by construction we grilled. Amazing what can happen on a Weber! But you do what is comfortable for you and your family.

Believe me we do grill but when you don't have a kitchen sink its just plan frustrating when its time to clean up those dishes.

No dishwasher either then I assume. I completely relate to your pain Sizz. Having my kitchen redone was a major PITA but so worth it in the end.

Just FYI, it IS possible to make an Easter dinner with nothing but one of those stand alone roasters and a microwave. I've done it. The clean up won't be pretty, but hey, if the weather is nice, take your dishwashing tubs outside and make everyone help. LOL.

Slap your contractor for not nagging the crap out of your counter and cabinet people.

What a pain. Sounds like someone didn't do their job with the draft plans!!
Hope your test go smoother this time. Let us know how it all went!!

Actually, I nixed the dishwasher for more cabinet space....I had to compromise.

Thanks for the support guys!

Good luck with the tests, how frustrating about the kitchen. I'd eat out!! Or get someone to invite you over. You could always use disposable plates etc so you could throw everything out after dinner if you wanted to cook at home.

We could probably bring in folding table and chairs and do the whole paper plate thing and cook on the grill or do that roaster thing but I don't know I'll have to think about it some more and see what they would rather do. Pretty large group of us so I don't know. Its stressful enough with this place all torn apart let alone trying to organize a holiday dinner. No matter we'll all be together and thats what really counts and what I look forward to the most.

I think you DESERVE to go out to eat after all this stress...relax and enjoy it! Your family is just as much appreciated in a restaurant than at home

Thanks Jap!

Thanks Michele.......seems like thats where we're heading considering all the things that are popping up this week. I really don't care if we have to eat at McDonalds as long as we're all together. I only get to see my brothers from MI (minus 1) about 2-3 times a year and I miss them and their families terribly, especially now that mom and dad are gone....their my only family left.

If it's any consolation Sizz in the end everything does work out- it's just a frustrating trip till you get there!I sympathize with the kitchen dilemna-we had the same kind of trouble when we re-did ours- except the granite was they only thing that came on time!I hope your little guy has a great birthday and you can let yourself enjoy it as well!!!Love and energy, Vicki
