Traveling Welcome Wagon
Most of the time we just say, "It's time to eat," when it's time to eat, but we have used several variations. This got me to wondering how you call your family to the table.
Common ones for us (my family as I was growing up, and now when I call James) are "Soup's on," "Supper is ready," "It's on the table," "Supper time," "Dinner time," "Come and get it," "Come and get it while it's hot," or if it is a cold meal we sometimes jokingly say, "Come and get it while it's cold."
One of my favorites, growing up, was when my dad would say, "It's time to eat. Go wash your front feet!"
