I know they have crocodiles in Oz but not sure they have alligators apart from in zoos. I always thought 'gators and caimans are an Americas animal.
If they are being eaten I hope they are better than crocodile. I bought some crocodile once in the local butchers. Awful! Texture like rubber and un-chewable. The thing in the link is a waste of good bacon and chicken IMO.
