My husband and I both love our alcohol -- and never drive on New Years Eve. Hubby jokes that he's leaving the roads for the amateur drinkers!

It's certainly not worth the risk. In my town, every policeman on the force works on New Years Eve/Day. All of them. The average ticket for DUI or DWI now is $5,000-$20,000. Way outta my league.
If I go out for drinks, I take a cab or a bus. Easy as can be and everyone wakes up the next day, happy.

We just had a young man killed in our town the other day by a drunk driver. So sad.

I had to work enough years as a bartender, waitress and a cook on New Year's Eve. I enjoyed staying home tonight. I'm getting older, I guess.
