RIP Leah Chase

In case you hadn't heard, the Queen of Creole Cooking died this past Saturday, June 1. She and her restaurant have been part of the New Orleans culture for decades. One of my wish-list places I want to get to was her restaurant, Dooky Chase. Guess if I ever get to New Orleans I'll have to hope someone else has it up and running, although it wouldn't be the same.

And you have to love her for chiding then-candidate Obama for wanting to add hot sauce to her gumbo. What a woman! What a life!
