In 2009 a boy, well, a young man, from the village where I live was killed in Afghanistan. Danny was a member of 45 Commando Royal Marines and was killed along with his commanding officer in "an explosion". Horrendous for his parents and family.

The results of an inquiry into the incident has just been announced on the radio. It found that they were killed by "friendly fire". So dreadful for his parents to have to come to terms with the fact that he was killed by "friends" when they are still trying to deal with his death. His name has been added to the village war memorial - the first since 1945.

If you do that sort of thing a mention in your prayers for Danny's parents would be kind.

That's a hard thing to handle. To lose your son during war to "friendly fire" it seems to add salt to the wound of his passing. My prayers for all involved.
