Bah, Humbug! Measuring liquids is just not that critical in 99.99% of all cooking. Eyeballing is certainly good enough. Besides, who says this thing is any more accurate than traditional methods of measuring? Just how does it compensate for a tilted cup, which is the biggest impediment to getting an accurate measure. Save your money!
I agree it is just a gimmick. To what degree does the digital readout measure? When it is ever that necessary to have that much accuracy in your liquid measurements? For most cooking I don't use a measuring cup anyway. In baking, where it matters, a drop here or there will not make a difference. When the person writing the recipe made the recipe they did not measure to that degree so there is no reason you would need to.
