DID YOU KNOW...
On Friday, October 13, 1307 (a date sometimes incorrectly linked with the origin of the Friday the 13th superstition) King Philip IV of France ordered de Molay and scores of French Knights Templar to be simultaneously arrested. The Templars were charged with numerous offenses (including apostasy, idolatry, heresy, "obscene rituals" and homosexuality, corruption and fraud, and secrecy). Historians agree that Philip's motivation was the huge sum of money he owed the Templars, rather than any real offenses committed.
