Well? Where are the 17-year locusts/cicadas?

We were prepped two weeks ago by the news about the "invasion" of these insects. So, here we sit on our front porch, and it's quiet as a tomb. No wild chirping, etc. No bugs for our dogs to pounce on. I even had a recipe for cicada ragout I wanted to try. But, no....

Nuthin'. Nada. Zip. Zero.

What about the rest of you?

We don't have any either - I dont think they are hitting our region, I think they are hitting other parts of the midwest, like Chicago.

Last time they visited my house was in early May 2002. So I am not expecting them for a while yet. They like to have drove me nuts with their constant 'singing'

They seemed to start up here and suddenly it was over???? Been wondering what happened. The city here got 'em bad 3 years ago, but my neighborhood was due as we get a huge infestation 3 years later in this "burb".
