I just tried a new red velvet cake recipe and the cake part turned out great. The problem is that I followed their recommendation for the cream cheese frosting and wound up with about twice as much as I need! Now, I love to scrape the frosting bowl, but if I eat this much I'm gonna die.

Can I freeze the extra to use at another time?:chef:

From what I have found on the web, yes you can freeze it. You just need to make sure it is wrapped securely because it will pick up odors from other foods in the freezer.

It was also suggested that you may need to whip it again after it thaws.
