Charlotte Shout started this week. It's an incredible outdoor food event with demos from tops chef's around the world and locally. You can purchase an array of foods at a minimal price. I can't wait till tonite. The creations are amazing.

I would love to go! We have a birthday party tonight, and I have a lot of school work the next few days. There were a couple chefs in particular that I wanted to see. Have fun comissaryqueen!

Sounds like great fun! And North Carolina is such a beautiful state. We have grandkids who live in Pisgah Forest.

Here's a recipe for the Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding that I got from Paula's Home Cooking:

Bill Nicholson's Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding with Butter Rum Sauce

Recipe courtesy Paula Deen
Yield: about 12 servings
User Rating: 5 Stars

2 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
2 (4.5-ounce) cans fruit cocktail (undrained)
2 eggs, beaten
1 (9-ounce) box raisins
1 pinch salt
1 or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Butter Rum Sauce, recipe follows

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Cube donuts into a large bowl. Pour other ingredients on top of donuts
and let soak for a few minutes. Mix all ingredients together until
donuts have soaked up the liquid as much as possible.

Bake for about 1 hour until center has jelled. Top with Butter Rum Sauce.

Butter Rum Sauce:
1 stick butter
1 pound box confectioners' sugar
Rum, to taste

Melt butter and slowly stir in confectioners' sugar. Add rum and heat
until bubbly. Pour over each serving of Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding.

I can feel my arteries hardening ladies!
I would love to go to something like that. I don't go out to restaurants but maybe 2 times a year. I would really like to sample gourmet foods.

I believe that is the dessert that won at the Jack Daniels last year. We tried it, and was not overly impressed with it. Maybe it was the fruit cocktail. I think it would be a good one to tweak.
