I was given an old Easy Roast gas grill that I pretty much restored. I've been looking for a spit rod for this for months. The motor is there, it accepts a 3/4" dia. rod and the distance to the opposite support is 36 1/2". The grill was made to roast whole pigs so the spit should be pretty substantial. Also, what's the best way to completely clean the SS cooking grids?

BTW, the company went out of business in the 90's.

Thanks.

Get a brass grill brush at Home Depot for cleaning the grids. Or coarse steel wool pads.

Contact a local metalworking shop, one that does welding. They can fabricate a rod for you easily. Take the motor and measurements with you.

If you need help with cleaning the grates, use some oven cleaner or put them into your self-cleaning oven for a cleaning cycle.
