Bacon-Wrapped Pork and Apple Patties

[size=-1]Ingredients:[/size]
[size=-1]1 pound lean ground pork[/size]
[size=-1]3/4 [/size][size=-1]cup quick-cooking rolled oats[/size]
[size=-1]Salt[/size]
[size=-1]1/2 [/size][size=-1]teaspoon ground sage[/size]
[size=-1]1/4 [/size][size=-1]teaspoon pepper[/size]
[size=-1]1/4 [/size][size=-1]teaspoon dried thyme leaves, crushed[/size]
[size=-1]1/3 [/size][size=-1]cup applesauce[/size]
[size=-1]1 [/size][size=-1]egg, slightly beaten[/size]
[size=-1]2 [/size][size=-1]tablespoons chopped green onion[/size]
[size=-1]4 [/size][size=-1]slices bacon[/size]
[size=-1]1 [/size][size=-1]large tart green apple, cut into thin wedges[/size]
[size=-1]1/2 [/size][size=-1]medium onion, cut into small wedges[/size]
[size=-1]1 [/size][size=-1]tablespoon olive oil[/size]
[size=-1]Directions:[/size]
[size=-1]In large bowl combine oats, 1/2 teaspoon salt, sage, pepper and thyme. Stir in applesauce, egg and green onion; mix well. Stir in ground pork until well blended. Form into 4 patties about 3/4 to 1-inch thick. Wrap 1 bacon strip around each patty; secure with toothpick. Grill or broil patties 4 to 5 minutes on each side until no longer pink in center.[/size][size=-1]Meanwhile in small skillet, cook and stir apple and onion in hot oil until tender. Sprinkle lightly with salt. Serve with patties.[/size]
