Buttermilk Pecan Pie

1 cup chopped pecans
1 unbaked 10 in pie shell
3 Tbls flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter softened
2 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
Sprinkle pecans in pie shell. Sift flour and salt together, cream butter in mixer bowl, add sugar 1/2 cup at a time beating well after each addition, stir in vanilla, beat in eggs one at a time. Add flour mixture gradually mixing well after each addition. Add buttermilk mix well. Pour over pecans. Bake 300 degrees for 1 hour. This pie is not as rich as some pecan pies.

Raine...can I marry you? I am sure our respective spouses wouldn't mind TOO much! This sounds fantastic...thanks for the recipe.

Linda, Howdy neighbor. You are just up the road. I have to drive up to Winston from time to time for meetings. nah, you would never know it had buttermilk in it.

Guess you could use regular milk. if you don't like the results then try the buttermilk and see which way you like best. Let us know how it turns out.

LOL Alix.. Usually my husband gets asked that question by both men & women.
