Egg Wash For Pies

I have been researching freezing apple pies. I think I have all the rules down with understandinig. But one question still remains unanswered. I always put a whole egg wash on my pie crusts. Should I put the egg wash on the raw pie crust before freezing or just before I put it in the oven for baking? :chef:
 
Thank you for your input. Although I have been baking and cooking for more than 50 years, I still have room to learn more.
 
I brush my apple pies with milk and a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar before baking. No egg
