Nonesuch brand mincemeat has become virtually impossible to find in our area and Smucker's seems unable to say when it may again become available.
Can you folks please recommend a TNT recipe for a Nonesuch taste-alike?
Thank you- JPB

I hope you can find some but it sounds like Smuckers is getting ready to discontinue the stuff.

Time to start trying to duplicate the recipe.

Looks like you can get some online: Amazon.com: nonesuch mincemeat

OR

Go to their website and find where to buy: None Such® | Where to Buy
Thanks Andy,
The prices through Amazon are outrageous.
Smucker accepted my 13 November order, shipped the order on 23 November, and debited my credit card for the full amount of the order on 28 November.
The package they sent, that was received on 28 November, did not include the 6 jars of mincemeat ($44) and 2 jars of organic creamy peanut butter ($10).
Perhaps they are preoccupied with their contaminated 'natural' chunky peanut butter recall.

So, was the box empty? Did they ship a partial or something you didn't want??
The box contained-

All I was really after was the jams and mincemeat, but thought I'd give them the benefit of a little extra business.

They still carry None Such mincemeat at Wegman's. They have the dry and the bottled. I have used Cross and Blackwell's with good results. The None Such brand started in Syracuse N.Y. at a company called Merrill - Soule. It is kind of sad that you are having trouble finding it because one of the slogans they used in 1895 was "It pleases the young, it pleases the old, and by every grocer in the land it is sold".

This is not a copy cat recipe but, it is a good one pie mincemeat. The secret in this is to use good beef, not hamburger. I don't know who Mary is but, this is one my mother and grandmother used for years.

Quick Mincemeat Pie from Mary C. Taylor, Lubec Maine

½ cup ground beef
1 ½ cups chopped apple
½ cup seedless raisins
2 T butter
½ t salt
½ t cinnamon
¼ t cloves
1 T molasses
2/3 cup sugar
2 T water
1 T apple cider vinegar

Mix together the ingredients as listed and spread in a pastry lined tin. Place a crust on the top and bake in 425 oven for 15 minutes; then turn down to 350 degrees and bake until center of pie is well cooked, about 45 minutes.

My MIL always made green tomato mincemeat, it didn't contain any meat, but made a very good pie. Of course you must have green tomatoes in order to make it, so it's of no use to you this year. I'm not home at the moment, so no access to my recipes:-( but will post it when I return in s few days. I will miss Nonesuch too!
