Was on a roll this Christmas. Made a sugar pie.. Easy recipe with few ingredients..it is like a thick custard when finished..eaten with whipped cream or ice cream..Pretty decadent..I got one piece..that was plenty..

2 cups brown sugar
3 tablespoons of all purpose flour
1 can Carnation evaporated milk
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
cold butter cut into little pieces..about 1/4 cup
1 pie shell 9 or 10 inch

Mix together sugar and flour in a mixing bowl
whisk together milk, eggs, vanilla, then add to the dry ingredients..
pour in pie shell..and dot the pie with little bits of butter..

Bake at 350 for about 50 minutes..

As a child, our family had numerous reasons to travel through Richmond Indiana. There was a restaurant we frequented that served sugar cream pie. Looks very similar, but this one was made with white sugar and cream. Very rich and delicious!
