Cake Pan Sizes

I have a Devil's Food Cake recipe that calls for baking it in three 8-inch cake pans. I own two 9-inch pans. Any suggestions? Thanks!
 
you could just use the 2 9's, fill a smidge more than halfway, and if you have more batter left either throw it away or make cupcakes.
 
^^^ That's what I would do. Just keep an eye on them as they bake; the cooking time in the recipe was calculated for a different size pan.
