CHOCOLATE PRALINE PECAN LAYER CAKE


1/2 c butter or margarine
1/4 c whipping cream
1 c firmly packed brown sugar
about 1 c chopped pecans
your favorite chocolate cake mix or recipe

Heat oven to 325°. In small saucepan combine butter, brown sugar, and cream. Heat until butter is just melted. Distribute into two 8 or 9" round cake pans. Sprinkle evenly with pecans.

Prepare cake mix and carefully into cake pan. Bake for 35-45 minutes until pick inserted comes out clean. Cool for 3 minutes in pan and then invert onto cooling racks. Cool completely.

TOPPING

1 3/4 c whipping cream
1/4 c powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla

Beat cream until soft peaks form. Add vanilla and sugar. Beat until stiff peaks form. Frost top only of one layer. Top with second layer and remaining cream. Refrigerate!!!
