4 eggs, beaten lightly
600ml milk
5tbsp sherry
8x1 cm thick slices of day old white bread
4 tbsp sunflower oil
115g caster sugar
225g plain chocolate, grated
Vanilla ice cream ,or wiped cream to serve( optional)
Beat lightly the eggs, milk and the sherry
Cut the bread into fingers
Soak the bread into the egg mixture, until soft ,then drain on kitchen paper
Fry the fingers on a medium heat for 8-10 minutes on each side , or until golden
Drain on kitchen paper
Roll them first in the sugar and then in the grated chocolate
