Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup butter-I use blue bonnet margarine
1-1/2 cups brown sugar
2 beaten egs
1 tsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
1-1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
2 cups oatmeal
1 pkg. chocolate chips
1/2 cup nuts
Preheat oven to 375.
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, water and vanilla. Sift flour, soda and salt and mix thorougly. Add oatmeal, chocolate chips and nuts and drop by tablespoonfuls on a cookie sheet. I always just pick up some dough and roll it between my hands to form a ball..it stays round more. I also use parchment paper on my cookie sheets. Bake at 375 for 8 minutes.
