I thought of these yesterday when Kadesma was working on her spice bars.

These are simple, no flour, no fat, cookies that we make in the winter months.

They do not work well when the humidity is high.

Walnut Spice Kisses
1 egg white
2 dashes of salt
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 t cinnamon
1/8 t nutmeg
1/8 t ground cloves
1 cup chopped walnuts
Walnut halves
Beat egg white and salt until stiff. Mix sugar and spices. Gradually beat sugar mixture into egg white. Fold in chopped walnuts. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto well-greased cookie sheet. Top with walnut half. Bake in 250 degree oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
Yield approx. 2 dozen kisses.
