Hair Pick Topper??

I am trying to make a cupcake topper that resembles a hair pick (like an afro pick lol). I am not sure what would be the smartest way to go about this. Melted chocolate? Sugar? Totally clueless. Hoping for some advice. My ?uestlove inspired cupcake with be displayed at an event so temperature may be an issue as well.

Does the pick need to be self supporting or will it lay flat on top of something else?

Melt chocolate and make one by dripping it out on wax pater which has been sprayed with a bit of Pam. When it cools you should be able to pick it up and use it,

OK, I can't stand it.......I'll bite. Why do you want to put a hair pic on top of a cupcake?? There just has to be a story here.

If you have access to gumpaste I would use this to construct the comb and let it dry. It will stand up. You can either colour the gumpaste first or paint the comb after. If you want it black, I suggest the painting after.
