Classic Banana Split

Classic Banana Split

INGREDIENTS
1 medium banana, peeled and split lengthwise
1 scoop each vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream
2 tablespoons sliced fresh strawberries or 1 tablespoon
strawberry ice cream topping
2 tablespoons pineapple chunks or 1 tablespoon pineapple ice
cream topping
2 tablespoons whipped cream
1 tablespoon chopped peanuts
1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
2 maraschino cherries with stems

DIRECTIONS
Place banana slices along the edges of an oblong, chilled dessert dish.
Arrange the three scoops of ice cream between the banana slices.
Top with remaining ingredients in any order you like.
Dig in immediately.
1 serving (or you can share with a close friend)

You just reminded me: When I a kid, I used to go to Carvel all the time and order a milkshake with two totally different flavored ice cream (say banana and rocky road), chocolate fudge, colored sprinkles....sometimes butterscotch depending on the flavors. Mix and throw in the cherries last. LOL...I ordered one the other day for the first time in years and the girl behind the counter looked at me crosseyed. Like - :huh:

Anyway, the banana split sounds great.
