Yes, it's true. And it is exactly what you think it is. Here's the link:
YouTube - Chicken Fried Bacon

Actually, it sounds incredibly tasty. Oh, and if that weren't enough on it's own, it comes with a side of gravy!! Is there nothing we Americans won't deep fry?

I used to know a couple or three old cooks here that was doing the "County Fried Bacon"
Actually they were using salt pork that had sat in water over night to remove some of the salt. Never saw/ate it with gravy however. It used to be a hit at deer camp!

That looks kinda good. Like it would put a nice twist on a BLT.

Can someone post a simple batter recipe here that you think would work? I never got into the whole eggwash, bisquick or whatever thing and am quite clueless in this respect..... and others

Not really a batter, but I took one egg, a couple tbls of milk, and whisked it up. Go from egg wash into seasoned flour, back to egg wash, then into flour, last into the hot oil.:)

They sell fried coke down here at carnivals...

It's basically fried dough with coke syrup mix in. Then they pour more syrup over the whole thing. I've never had a desire to try it... lol
