This famous match took place in December of 1956, just a month after Soviet
tanks had rolled into Budapest to suppress an uprising in Hungary, and
feelings were running high on both sides. Hungary won the match 4-0, when
the referee declared the match over with a minute remaining after a Soviet
player had brutally injured a Hungarian player and the crowd erupted in
anger. The Hungarian team went on to defeat Yugoslavia 2-1 in the final game
to win the gold medal. After the Olympics, about half of the Hungarian team
sought asylum rather than return to Hungary.

A maroon is a type of rocket which makes a loud banging report (noise) and creates a bright flash. It is used as an alarm or warning. The British Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) used these rockets in the past to call the crew when the lifeboat needs to be launched.[1] Another example was as a signal on a railway, to alert oncoming trains that they must stop due to unexpected accident or track work ahead.[2] Used by British spotters in World War I located around the cities, they would fire when German bombers were approaching. Maroons were also intended to be used by the British Civil Defense or Royal Observer Corps in the event of a nuclear attack
