in the ethnic part of your grocery store you should find green chili in a can. If you are able to get ahold of fresh green chili, I recommend using it

Sounds good :) If you use fresh green chiles, how do you prepare them?

roast them, peel then and chop them. Here in NM, every dish can be made with green chili. It is one of the most amazing flavors ever!!!!

I am very new to this site. I love cooking and wanted to expand my horizons. I have been living in new mexico for 8 years and i have to agree with barbiedawl--green chili is awesome and very addicting. The canned green chilis are in no compaRISON to the real deal..

I agree - I use poblano chiles in any recipe that calls for chopped green chiles. No comparison.
 Saying green chili can't compare to poblanos is fighten words here in NM,;) missy! We dont really deal with poblanos or very many tomatillos if at all.:)
