Hi! New member here. I have a question that I hope maybe a more seasoned cook can answer. I started a black bean and sweet potato turkey chili recipe in my slow cooker this morning, but was missing smoked paprika. I intend to get some to add when I return home this evening. Will it make that much of a difference adding the spice at the end of cooking instead of at the beginning? Thanks!

Hi, NB, welcome to DC.

Well, yes and no. It won't have worked it's magic by blending in with the other spices for as long, so it will be a little more pronounced. But at least you will get it in there, especially the smokiness.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks everyone! I did let it cook a bit longer after getting home. And yes, the next couple of days the flavors were much better combined.
