Gardening with Hay and Straw Bales

I would like to have information, for how to plant, using Hay, and Straw Bales. I need to grow my own vegetables, but am not able to dig, hoe, etc. I am disabled, but I think I would be able to grow my food this way. However, I have access to hay and straw.

I actually did that one year. The only thing is that they dry out easily, so u have to pay close attention to watering them .
