Wife and I have been gardening and canning for over 50 years. Also keep a few honey bee hives and grow mushrooms. Enjoying retirement as well as the two grandsons!

Hello Michigan! Welcome to DC from Waterdown, Ontario!

Just got a 'grow your own' Mushroom Kit for Mother's Day. It's a first for me. (Lion's Mane)

Hi and welcome to Discuss Cooking from a former East Michigander [emoji2]

We also grow herbs and vegetables and have beehives. With the spring growth, my husband has already split our two hives and now we have four [emoji16] Once they're stabilized, we'll find them a new home.

Hey, keep those bee hives and next year you'll have 8!
Lol, we live on a small city lot - 40' wide by 140' deep and we already have one unhappy neighbor who thinks we should be able to control our bees better :ROFLMAO:  despite the fact that there are at least three other beekeepers that we know of in the neighborhood, one of which is right behind him. Two is plenty for us. We get more than enough honey for our own consumption, a few sales and gifts.
