Hi Shanda - And Welcome. If you are just starting the cooking from scratch thing, may I suggest you purchase the cook book "The Joy of Cooking". Besides having a ton of good recipes, it also goes into great detail on methods, and or aspects of the cooking world that most other cook books skip.

Good luck on your culinary efforts :)

hey welcome to the site it is a great site I personally like french classics by richard grausman its a very good cook book that has a lot of modern recipes.

Welcome to the family, you have found a great bunch of folks here... I just love them!!!

Hey Shanda!

I'm pretty new too & I love this site. I'm not much of a forum person, but DC has really kept my interest. When trying all those new recipes, be sure to stick to exactly what they say to do & then you can make your "adjust to taste". This site has been very helpful to me already & the people are great!

Have fun! :chef:
