I usually make my own, have posted a few recipes here. I like adding booze to them for great flavor. I recently bought a couple different Lawry's marinades. I had the Steak & Chops one last night on some chargrilled pork chops.

Right next to the shelf of marinades was a mango coconut hot sauce which caught my eye. I think I'm going to try that out on some chicken breasts tomorrow.

Anyone have a favorite Lawry's marinade?

It's been a long time since I've bought any marinades. I much prefer to make my own.

I want to know how that mango coconut hot sauce is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please...:chef:

I will occasionally pick up a ready-made product such as a marinade in hopes of hitting the jackpot. That gives me a super simple solution to a good meal when I am feeling lazy. Sadly, just like in the casinos, you don't hit the jackpot often.

i've tried a few lawry's marinades, and found them un-spectacular. about the only one we like is teryaki. "soy vey" is better teryaki, imo.
lawry's lemon pepper and louisiana red pepper are ok, but boring.

lately, we've been using the "world harbors" brand of marinades. fajita is a fave, and the hawaiian teryaki is good.

but stay away at all costs from "world harbors'" new apple maple marinade. it's disgusting. tastes like rotten apples.

I often steal ideas from bottled marinades. If one catches my eye in a store I'll check the ingredient list and pick up whatever ingredients I don't have to make my own version of it. My first attempt at jerk chicken was stolen this way.

Thanks BT.

I get ideas from processed foods too. It's been so hot now, easier is better. We usually throw a quick salad together and plop some sort of protien on the grill. Not in the mood to be making sauces. My home made marinades have come out pretty good, just need some different form of inspiration.

I agree on the SoyVey. Their Teriyaki is awesome.

But World Harbor makes an Angostora Worcestershire that is out of this world. It's so flavourful... man I love it. I usually just pan-fry beef cube steaks with one sliced onion and a little kosher salt. Then put that sauce on top.

I enjoy Lawry's Hawaiin marinade, I just add a couple tweeks here and there (lime juice ect.) and use it to saute chicken and peppers to serve over rice. Simple and fast.
I love Soy vey it reminds me of a Korean BBQ marinade, actually I am marinating thinly sliced beef I bought at a Japanese market in some Soy vey right now to quick sear and serve with steamed rice and maybe broccoli for a quick dinner tonight.

Steaks

I have a pack of 4 rib-eyes & afraid they may have a little freezer burn - they're pretty iced up.

Can anyone suggest a marinade, I'm going to cook them & freeze leftovers - don't want to embarrass myself by serving to company (original plan:wacko:).
