I am, as my wife calls it, a committed "kitchen gadgefile".

I have in mind buying a Magimix 5200xl, to speed preparation when bulk cooking and general other kitchen duties.

I also have a Vitamix and so don't need it for blending, soups, smoothies, and a Kitchenaid Artisan mixer and so don't need it for whisking, cake/dough mixing etc.

My knife skills are pretty good (although a few scars on my hands might suggest otherwise!) but I get bored with chopping, slicing, julienning large portions of fruit and veg, and we have a large vegetable patch and fruit trees in the garden and so this can become a chore when preserving or batch cooking.

Is it really worth a £320 spend?

I am a kitchen gadget addict. So I totally get it. In my opinion there is no such thing like too many gadgets in the kitche. If you have cash for it, go for it. Do not buy it if you are planning monthly payments, or credit card. Money is the issue. If you will have this gadget you will find you use for it. I know i do for all my gadgets.
