My parents have this roaster from when my grandmother died years ago and I wondered if anyone had one of these things?

To me this thing is something like a primitive slow cooker but since its so old I don't dare use it(electric problems, maybe)

looking at this one could cook a dinner for 4-5 people but i never remember seeing my grandmother using it when we visited.

Thanks in advance for any help/thoughts.

These roasters were like virtually indestructible. I think the electrics are very simple. I have a few of them mostly westinghouse and they wNork very well for cooking roasts and turkeys etc. I have a very early Nesco, that has an oval rack, and trays and they say it works just like an oven to bake pies, cakes, cookies etc. Use and enjoy yours. And pass it along to the next generation when you are ready, and it will be a treasured family heirloom.
