First time with an Instant Pot device - Not good at all!!!!!!

Not very pleased with the Instant Pot-like device I purchased at Goodwill this last week.

Made two meals. Both were a failure.

Gonna take it back.

Send a message via Skype™ to taxlady
Maybe it would work better with a real Instant Pot.

What did you make and what went wrong?

Yes, I love my electric pressure cooker (that I got before Instant Pots showed up).

So what brand is it, and what went wrong? Did the pressure not really get high enough, or what?

I got an Instant Pot back in November and everything I have made in it so far turned out just as advertised. As a retired technical writer, all I can suggest is RTFM!

Yes, I did read the manual, front to back. Followed instructions exactly as written.

I have to wonder the reason someone donated it to Goodwill...

We have donated many appliances over the years but, always made certain they were in good working order.. Not all people do that..

My IP is magic..

Followed the instructions to the letter. The meal was incinerated.

Maybe the pot is defective. I've never had anything burn in my IP.

Sorry this happened, Katie.

Given all your previous successes at thrift stores, I guess you were due for a dud.

Can you post what you tried to make and the instructions you followed? There are way too many terrible IP recipes out there.

+1... Must be a huge disappointment.. I wish I had your eye for thrift purchasing, Katie.. I hope you don't allow this mishap turn you off to IP cooking..
