If your pan is already well-seasoned it's perfectly fine to use dish soap and hot water. Make sure you dry it completely.

I never ever just wipe it. There's too much gunk in it.

I use hot water and a scrungie or hot water, soap and a scrungie.

I too scrub my cast iron skillets, but never with soap, just hot water and a SCRUBBLE stainless steel scrubber. Then I dry it thoroughly with paper towels, apply a light coat of bacon juice to the interior surfaces, and put it on a hot burner with the vent fan on until it quits smoking.

Whatever you do, make sure it is dry when you done with it.

Absolutely! CharlieD is dead on with that advice. Also, wipe a thin coating of oil on the cooking surface before putting away. Wipe the excess oil out wit a paper towel.

When cooking with cast iron, it's best to pre-heat the pan before adding any oil. This will make the pan even more stick-free.
