Ceramic skillets

My pans were not "cheap". They are the Zwilling J.A.Henckels set I bought from Macy's.

There's nothing for the consumer about different grades of ceramic hardness in pans. They say about the same for care;use only plastic rated utensils, clean with vinegar and baking soda, do not use at high heat etc.

But in my pans, the ceramic scratches very easily with plastic scrubbers and those green Scotch pads.

I did an experiment with my biggest pan since it was still pristine. I made sure it was never used past medium heat and only used a sponge with baking soda to clean it.

No browning in the center yet, but slight scratches on the bottom of the pan.

Albeit the scratches probably have nothing to do with actual cooking, but they'll only get worse and probably at some point influence the non-stick properties of the pan.
