Steven c, I've had good luck with leaving the CI pan in the oven and running the self-cleaning cycle. One cycle and the pan is like new out of the foundry. Plus you can do several at one time.

And the chain mail scrubber thing works great. Does not scratch the seasoning. Also works great on my carbon steel pans.
