I might be wrong but was thinking of what you could do since you don't own one.......couldn't she just use a deep baking pan or cookie sheet and put a cooling rack inside it and cover the entire thing with aluminum foil?

The recipe asks to arrange the asparagus in a roasting pan and roast for 10 minutes covering and then roast for 10 mins. without the foil.

I just 'roasted' it in a shallow baking dish and followed the recipe exactly. It tasted good, but I am wondering if a roasting pan would have made any difference.

Hello,

I found an asparagus recipe where it is roasted in a roasting pan. I don't have one. What is a roasting pan? Can I use a baking dish instead?

Thanks
Sunflower

A roasting pan can be practically any pan that's used to roast meat in, such as a whole turkey, chicken, beef, pok or a lamb leg.

It can be open or closed, in an oval shape with a matching cover, or in an oblong shape with a matching cover, or just an open pan that's disigned for dry roasting large roasts.
