Hey I have a nice set of globals and am in need of a new steel and wetstone. I recently stumbled upon Global Knives,Wusthof Knives,Henckels Knives,Ceramic Knives,Kitchen Knives,Shun Knives,Steak Knives and found the Shapton Glass Stones and the Borosilicate(glass) Rod & Ceramic Idahone 10" Rod. I am very interested in purchasing both of these but everytime i read about Global knives it tells me i have to use whatever global sells. Is this true? or will my blade not be ruined.

Forget the hype. I know of no better ceramic rod than the Idahone. The Global is an overpriced, over-hyped waste of time.
If we're not supposed to eat animals, then how come they're made out of meat?
