Messermeister Knives

I was just watching a show on the Fine Living Channel called "The Insider's List", that rates various cooking implements and appliances as to quality and price. They rated this brand as the best knife...said the reason you've never heard of them is because the company spends everything on the knives, and nothing on advertising. It's German steel with a Japanese edge.
