Okay ladies. Here's the place to let your hair down!

Oh, this is a great group to start Terry! I looked in the mirror last night while DH was giving me a haircut (he does a great job) and saw all the grey hairs, wrinkles and double chin and I got really depressed. I have exactly 2 months before I turn 50 and for the first time in my life I am feeling my age. I am sure after this surgery is out of the way I will go back to embracing my age and just going with the flow, but right now it is down right depressing.

Nice job Fisher'smom. Now where shall I begin? I am 51 and not exactly loving it. I don't like the way I look or feel. I think it's a transition period that I have yet to embrace.

I guess my looks bother me. I spent too much of my life thinking how I looked was important. Not to mention the lack of control over how I feel which is tired, hot, moody.

I wish I could be like my sister who is eight years older than me. She has never worn makeup and has let her wrinkles and grey hair do their thing. She says she has earned each hair and wrinkle and has no intention of hiding them! I think that is a healthy attitude. Funny thing is I think my sister is beautiful just the way she is and although I have grey and wrinkles I can't feel the same about myself.

oh lord who allowed this forum?!! LOL
I dislike my face and my body. The body I can do a few things to fix, but, my face is what it is.

never had hot flash except for about three months after hysterectomy. i was in mid thirties. long story. so took supplements for a long while.
i didn't mind fifty at all, a little more concerned at 60 and at 70 it is very strange. my mind is still 40, lol. but my body betrays me all the time. i don't worry much about looks anymore though i still color my hair.
i mind getting tired when i haven't done very much at all. can't bull through a day anymore. must stop and rest. so much to do so little time.
i think this is a good group, maybe we can give each other insights about age and appearance.
