I love the way you guide BD. You get you point across with lighthearted humor which almost always diffuses the situation. You do a brilliant job of it!

Thanks for the karma and compliment BD! Keep up the great work. The site is lucky to have you behind the scenes!

The cake(s) turned out amazing! I as usual forgot my camera, but a couple of people said they would send me the pictures. I wasn't able to put in all the detail I wanted, but it turned out just fine. The grads loved that they each got their own cake and everyone else was happy to share the big one! My two young students were able to put some interesting touches on it. We were rushed because my sciatica started last night and I can barely move without T3's so had to wait for a friend to pick me up and I wasn't able to finish some components. But it all worked out wonderfully.

I have made two quadruple batches and need at least one more!

Ahh, the ambitious cake. It is a grad cake for a banquet our church puts on every year. There are 6 grads and about 150 people attending. I am doing a 15" layer (3" high) for the guests and 6 mini 6" by 3" cakes individualized with decorations for each of the grads. So, 7 cakes in all. There are a ton of decorations and I am not going to even guess how much buttercream! If it all works out I will post pictures!

I am greatful for your awesome friendship - that in itself takes away a lot of the stress, just knowing there are people who really care and mean what they say. My leg infection and rash are pretty well gone, though the leg still swells and I am still wearing the pressure stocking. But with all the walking (we park down a steep hill from the hospital and I have to walk up it twice and down it twice a day), driving and often standing helping Dad, the knee and lower leg muscles are very sore. Some days I need my cane again, which frustrates me, but the main thing is my Dad right now. At the moment things don't look good again (another infection and he is not eating). But tomorrow he could be on another upswing (I hope). It just keeps going like a roller coaster.

Long time know talk, dear friend. I am still running to the hospital for Dad twice a day and trying to get a very ambitious cake done for Friday. How are you? How are/were your shows going?

I always have patience with you, BD! You are one of my rocks (the good solid kind) and for that I will love ya forever. I understand about the outside stuff. We finally finished the kitchen reno and no DH decided we are going to build our own window screens. I am also helping with a website, teaching basic computer skills to a friend and cake season has started. I also intend on sticking with the heart stuff and will help technically when I can and am needed. Ya, don't take the "I need time away from mod" route - I missed that connection. Take care and I am here for you!

You haven't said anything about me being reinstated as a mod! LOL!!! I was sure it would produce some comments ;-). Thanks for bailing me out on the 70 people for $70 thread. I was trying to get at that - shepherd's pie is about the potatoes and veggies with some meat. They didn't seem to want pasta so I was trying to think outside the box. But you were right, rice is even better.

I am better than I could every imagine! I have been almost 3 weeks (this Sunday) pain free (except my normal back and leg spasms, but the all over body pain that I have had since longer than I care to remember is gone)! I am still having the stumbles, dizziness and other symptoms my doctor believes are auto-immune related, but I am driving, cooking, walking sans cane most of the time and just enjoying life! Tony is in the same boat as you. He is working hard since he finally got a full time position and is trying to get all the renos done here (the kitchen is DONE). I hope you don't do too much and definitely stay healthy!
