Hello everyone, I'm new here. I just have a very important question. Please advice.

I bought a chicken liver last week and put it in the fridge. Ang has forgotten about it until today. When I took it out from the fridge it wasn't frozen completely, half of it was lightly frozen and the other half is not, so the color is not the same but it doesn't have a bad smell.

Is it safe to cook these? or just throw them? I have a housemate that says it's okay to cook it.

HELP ASAP

As it is partially frozen, it will be ok. It has been kept chilled for the week you've had it. But I have to ask, is it a tub or package of chickem livers? The sren't very big. They do make a wonderful liver pate

Liver is extremely high in iron, so its color my change a bit to a rusty color. It is absolutely normal. It's even a problem when I make pâté. I have to add a little bit of oil on top of it (from a jar) , right after I eat some, to protect it from oxidation. But yours should be OK.
