TRUTH !!
The Catskills are part of the Appalachian Mountains, near the Hudson River
in southeastern New York. Their highest peak is Slide Mountain, 1,281 m
(4,204 ft) above sea level. The Catskills are known for their woods and many
streams; in fact, artists of the Hudson River School were attracted to the
area for its scenic beauty. The Catskills are also the home of some of
Washington Irving's characters, such as Rip Van Winkle and Ichabod Crane.
