I made a Smoked Salmon chowder w/ 4 cups cream. What will happen if I freeze it?

DO NOT FREEZE! The cream will separate into curds and water! Your best bet is to eat up that chowder and be happy! Unfortunately, freezing is not an option. Sorry!

Hmmmm....I make a seafood chowder with lots of cream in it. I gave it to someone who froze some of it. (I wouldn't have recommended that she freeze it but she did.) It worked well. I've done it myself & it's still good after thawing & reheating. Marajo, I suggest you try freezing a small amount & see what you think of the results.

that's what I will do; freeze a cup of it. get back to you later on this. many thanks.
