Shish kebabs

I've never grilled shish kebabs before, so I'm trying to get a good understanding of how to do so.. I think my main concern, is HOW I grill the kebab. Do you just place them right on the grill or should they somehow be suspended rotisserie style? Or do I need to purchase a bbq rack and put them in that?
 
Also.. I'm bbqing veal. Plan on cutting them into little cubes. About how long and what kinda of heat would you recommend cooking them for?
 
Put the prepared meat (kebabs) onto skewers (shishes) and place the skewers right on the cooking surface.

How long you cook them will depend on the size of the kebabs, how closely you pack them on the shishes, the degree of doneness, and how hot your fire is. You should cook them over high heat.

I recommend you put only meat on skewers and any accompanying veggies or fruit on separate skewers because they cook at different rates.
