Henckels - Forged or Stamped?
I just went to the Henckel's website, and I get the impression that they use stamped blades
https://www.zwilling.com/pdf/kapitel/00000208 I was just wondering if this is true because i've been under the impression that Henckel's are forged |
Their top of the line blades like the Professional-S and Twin Select series are forged. Their lower end blades like the Twin Signature and Gourmet models are stamped.

I own one of their cheaper sets, and let me tell you -- they are perfectly terrible. The only knife in the set I ever use is the utility knife, but only because the blade is thin, and I've taken every opportunity to put a good edge on it.

I'm with Ironchef .... read the product information. If they are forged they will state it ... otherwise manufacturers seem to either "over look" or fail to state the fact that they are stamped in most cases. Unless it is specifically stated that they are forged ... they are stamped.
For browsing and comparing ... go to www.Cooking.Com and read the specs on the knives ... down in the "Product Characteristics" section ... look for a line that says "Construction:" - generally, stamped knives don't have that line - and if it is there will say they are forged. |
